Rapid cellular regeneration

From the Heroes Wiki, your wiki for all things Heroes!

Rapid Cellular Regeneration, also known as Spontaneous Regeneration, Tissue Regeneration and healing is the power to heal and regenerate bodily tissue damaged as a result of injury. This regeneration takes place very rapidly, and is usually completed within seconds. This power is powerful enough to revive the possessor even after fatal injuries, however this cannot occur unless and until any abnormal obstruction is removed from the body. Body parts appear not to begin healing until they are replaced into approximately correct positions (e.g. broken bones must be reset).

The power has been shown to regenerate minor extremities such as fingers and toes, but it is unknown if it can regenerate entire limbs, although it could most likely reattach a severed limb if the limb were correctly placed at the site of the severance, when Claire was attacked by Sylar he removed the top of her head. After examining her brain he placed the top of her head back onto Claire's skull and it healed.

The power also appears to greatly diminish any pain that would normally be associated with injury, though Claire explains in 'Kindred' that she still feels pain normally and just gets over it quickly. However, after Sylar attacked her, Claire seems to no longer feel pain. Sylar claimed that even if he wanted to, he could not kill her, but the writers on the show have confirmed that decapitation would indeed kill her as the brain is vital to use her (and all of the other character's) powers.

This power also seems to make the user nearly immortal.
