Noah comes and marks him and takes him back to Level 5. in the episode Dual, Noah frees the Level 5 prisoners and tells them that the one who brings him Sylar's head is granted their freedom. When Sylar is about to attack Meredith, Doyle comes to her rescue and takes a hold of Sylar. However, Sylar is able to knock Doyle out using telekinesis with his mind. Claire gets Doyle set up with a new identity so he can continue his marionette career. He walks away from Claire and isn't seen for the remainder of the season.

He, is soon after, captured by Sylar, tied up, and left as a 'gift' for Emile Danko. Danko proceeds to have Doyle placed with the rest of the captives, under induced coma. At some point, likely when capturing Doyle, Sylar took his ability empathically.
